The lens

Becoming
Keystone

It was with hindsight I realised I think in constellations, not silos.

Do you relate to that?

For years I built across wildly different domains—Storybord AI for startups, Nodl Tech for AI partnerships, academic projects mapping nature-positive action and cultural value, Taproot Studio for Intentional Creativity work. Each expressed my values. But they lacked the cohesion I knew wanted to be expressed.

There was a what what what needling me—I hadn't dug deep enough to hit that universal zero point where all the threads come together.

Keystone Ecological is the weaving together.

The lens I've used to build what I think is the world's first ecological brand builder. The design lens I bring to tools and infrastructure. How I work with others at big milestone moments asking who am I and what am I here for in this next chapter.

When someone lands the language that makes them say— Yes—this is it—this IS what I'm here to do—something profound happens. They can finally connect with others. Customers, staff, partners.

The act of language arising is at once personal and ecological.

That's Keystone Ecological.

Climate and social crisis. Ecological breakdown. The organisations responding need infrastructure that works like ecosystems do: connected, diverse, appropriately scaled.

Keystone builds that infrastructure:

Background

The Journey

Thirty Years, One Pattern

  1. 1990s–2000s

Artisan food & sustainable supply chains

Building ethical networks before the language existed.

  2. 2000s

    International development & responsible tourism

    Community-centred development, not extraction.

  3. Mid-2000s

Homeless services & the "I Can" framework

Making the invisible visible—capturing dignity and soft outcomes.

  4. Late 2000s–2010s

    Community sector transformation

    Systemic change, not just programmes.

  5. 2010s

    Regenerative hospitality at scale

Street food to restaurant—intersection of people and planet.

  6. 2020s

    AI and Keystone

Infrastructure that bridges research and practice without extracting.

The understory connecting all of it: seeing patterns beneath the surface and building what needs to exist. It's only taken 30 years. The returning to what I already knew—yet lacked the language for.

The Book

Wonder
Spiral

A Book for Constellation Thinkers

Wonder Spiral is about thinking ecologically in a world that demands you think in straight lines.

It's for people who:

  • See connections everywhere and were told they were unfocused
  • Think in webs, not hierarchies
  • Were told they were "too much" or "all over the place"
  • Recognise the most important work happens at intersections

It's about the understory. The patterns beneath everything. How to build from there.
